Call for Papers

The Journal of Foreign Languages and Cultures (CN43-1537/H), established in 2017, is a peer-reviewed publication that issues biannually. JFLC is dedicated to disseminating pioneering research articles, insightful reviews, and engaging interviews that span the diverse fields of literary theory, comparative literary studies, translation studies, and sinology. JFLC, already indexed in EBSCO, Scopus, and ERIH PLUS, is recognized for its contributions to the academic community, drawing submissions and participation from scholars worldwide.

JFLC is deeply committed to fostering transnational and interdisciplinary academic dialogue, promoting collaboration beyond national, cultural, and disciplinary divides. We particularly welcome comparative literature, critical theory, and cultural studies, aiming to enrich understanding across various linguistic and cultural landscapes. Our goal is to advance multi- and interdisciplinary research that illuminates the scholarly investigation in different languages and cultures, contributing to the academic discourse on linguistics, literature, culture, and translation.

JFLC has spearheaded a series of special issues and columns that delve into the intricacies of comparative literature and world literature. Noteworthy among these are the Latin American Special Issue (Guest Editors: João Cezar de Castro Rocha, Ran Wei), the Comparative Literature beyond Eurocentrism Special Issue (Guest Editors: Zhang Longxi, Omid Azadibougar), and Special Columns in areas such as Latin American, Digital Humanities, and World Literature and Its Discontents, among others.

We invite contributions in English from authors across all relevant academic fields, underscoring our commitment to a broad, inclusive scholarly community. Contributions should be submitted electronically in Microsoft Word format. We welcome submissions that comply with the Modern Language Association (MLA) citation style, with lengths between 4,000 and 10,000 words. Each submission must be accompanied by an abstract, keywords, a professional biography of 50 to 100 words, and a postal address.

Confirmation of receipt will be communicated via email. For comprehensive guidelines on submissions, we invite interested scholars to consult our website at http://jflc.hunnu.edu.cn or contact us directly through email at enjflc@hunnu.edu.cn.
